We had another great service last night. I pray that every one of us is pleading and preparing to have the power of God in our lives. This morning I am thinking about faithfulness. I will spend a few morning on this subject.

A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent. Proverbs 28:20

Let me remind you that when the Bible speaks of a man in the way it does here, it is talking about mankind, it could pertain to a man or a woman. The Bible makes a distinction here about a faithful man, so there should be some things that set the faithful man apart from the unfaithful man.

Letís look at some of the things that I believe set a faithful person apart from an unfaithful person.

There is a great lack of commitment today. It seems that no one wants to be committed to anything. Much of that is because few really know the Lord and He is the one that gives us true commitment. Those that know the Lord, know about commitment. It is logical that commitment and faithfulness go together.

The faithful person will be committed to God. He will give his all to the Lord and not withhold anything. God is worthy of our trust and He will not ask of us what it is not best for us to give.

The faithful person will be committed to their marriage. God help us to get back to faithfulness in marriage. This one thing is hurting our nation and our Churches more than any other. If the home falls the nation and the Church is sure to follow.

What a shame the many think we need a group called ďPromise KeepersĒ to help us do what we said we would do at the marriage altar. That vow was not to any group; it was to your spouse, before God. Iíll tell you what will make the difference in your marriage, it is to know that you have no choice, you made a vow, for better or worse, until death do you part. That vow took away your choice.

I know there are those that have had problems and have failed marriages, but of all people, you ought to be saying Amen the loudest, you know what it is and you know the great need for commitment.

The faithful person will be committed to the managing of his money. The first step to good money management is tithing. When you give God His first, He will help you with the rest, you canít get better management than God. I will not waste time arguing this point with anyone. The very fact that a person would want to argue about tithing is evidence that they donít know anything about the Lord and money management.

The second step is to do what you cannot afford and always pay your bills. When you make them, you are obligated to pay them. There are no exceptions. Too many are bringing a reproach to God and the Church because they will not pay their debts. There may be difficulties, most of those could be resolved if you had a commitment to pay your debts.

The faithful person will watch his mouth. The Bible says that out of the mouth come the issues of life. It says out of the mouth, the heart speaketh. If you are committed to control your mouth, you will find that your life will go a lot better.

Keep your mouth clean.
Keep your mouth honest.
Keep your mouth Godly.

The faithful person will be committed to high morals. This world is doing all it can to lower the morals of everyone. Low morals produces unfaithfulness. Donít allow anything in your life that will damage or lower your morals. Music, Conversation, TV

The faithful person will be committed to the ministry. Whatever God has called you to do, it deserves you faithfulness. Teaching, Witnessing, etc.

We allow too many things to take us away from the ministry. No matter how small you think your part in the Lordís work may be, it is your ministry and if you are to be counted as faithful, you must be committed.

Are you a faithful Christian? Is commitment part of your character?

Just one more night of Revival. God has done some great things for us and has brought some conviction, encouragement, and healing in many lives. I hope you are applying what you are hearing. I heard one of our good men tell Brother Tully that he was going to take the truths he heard and put them into practice in his life. That is what Revival is all about.

Letís look at another thought concerning the faithful man:

A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent. Proverbs 28:20

The greatest need in the Church today is to have people with strong convictions. Too many attend Church and/or serve the Lord for the wrong reasons. Thatís why when something doesnít suit them just right, they jump ship.

If you are convicted about Church attendance, you will attend, no matter what. If you are convicted about giving, you will give, no matter what. If you are convicted about serving, you will serve, no matter what.

Most of the conviction is gone from our Churches today. Many do not want a Church that causes them to be convicted, for obvious reasons, but that is what they need.

Many claim to have been offended at Church, when all that really happened is, they were convicted. Those that need conviction the most, usually are the ones that want it the least.

I donít want anyone to ever leave our Church, I donít want anyone to be mad at me for any reason. I wish everyone liked me and told me so. But, I will not trade all of that for the convicting power of God in the services. I pray every service that God would convict someone; that is the reason for Preaching, for God to do a work in someoneís heart.

Those that have conviction will be examples.
Those that have conviction will effect the lives of others.
Those that have conviction will be a blessing to the Church.
Those that have conviction will be faithful.

While others seem to be abandoning their conviction, may we understand that real Bible convictions bring real Bible blessings into our lives. Its not always easy, but it is always right and blessed.

Our Revival seemed to go by so quickly. I am so thankful for those that made the effort to be faithful. Sacrifices were made and schedules were changed and I know the Lord will always bless the faithful.

I am looking forward to Sunday Morning. I am excited about meeting again with Godís people and I am ready to Preach the Word that God has laid on my heart. I want to be faithful!

A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent. Proverbs 28:20

The faithful person will show compassion on others. God deliver us from the hard hearted people that never consider others. It must be a sad life to only be concerned about yourself.

There were hurting, troubled, and burdened people in Church this Sunday, the faithful notice.

The faithful person will show compassion on his family.

Men ought to show compassion toward their wives. There are too many macho men that could really make a difference in their marriages, if they would show a little compassion.

Some parents could solve a lot of problems in the home by showing a little compassion for the children. Their problems and troubles are real, they need to know someone cares.

Children need to show compassion for the others in the home. We have to many self-centered kids today. Everything has to please them or they will make it miserable for everyone. That child will never be faithful to anything.

The faithful person will show compassion to the lost. If you are saved and know that you are on your way to Heaven, you ought to have compassion for someone that is on their way to Hell.

We often ask, How do those who do not know the Lord make it? Itís hard for them, they need your compassion. Iím not talking about compromise, but true Godly compassion. Buy them a book, hand them a tract with a message that addresses their need, share a kind word from the Bible, etc. There are many ways to show compassion, ask God to help you. As we visit and knock doors, there is someone somewhere that needs some compassion that only a Christian can give. You are missing a blessing if you are not showing compassion to someone.

And finally, the faithful person will show compassion to the weak. You have some strengths that others may not have. God did not make us all the same. Many times He made us different so we could show compassion on each other.

If you are an out-going person, have compassion on the bashful. If you are talented, have compassion on those of us that have none. If your faith is strong, have compassion on those with weak faith. If you have a lot of Bible knowledge, have compassion on those that may be still learning. If you know how spiritual things ought to be done, have compassion on those that may not be a familiar with those things as you are. If you have the victory over things in your life, have compassion of those that are still struggling with those things.

I am praying that our Revival did a work in every life. One work is to make us all more faithful. Included in our faithfulness is a deeper compassion for others.

I will be looking for you in the morning.
